Patti,
As an Ambassador with Plexus Pink I felt it was my responsibility to learn as much about breast cancer as I possibly could. I spent many a night reading as much as I could about the subject. While it didn't come up often, once I heard about IBC, I researched it on the internet. I have worked at numerous Expo's and Health Fairs and several survivors of IBC have talked extensively about it to me. Since then I mention it to every woman I come in contact with. Fran

Claudia, Yes we are going to change things. We need to keep this wonderful tool, the video, out there for everyone to learn from.

Patti, no matter how many times I watch the KOMO video about IBC, I still get amazed when I realize that I have IBC. It's pretty scary, but I'm so thankful for the wonderful members of our online support group. I am in awe at the knowledge in our group. I will continue to try and educate whoever I come in contact with in the general public, as well as the medical profession. Most people are very thankful after hearing what I have to say and they really appreciate the brochures I get from you. I would say that over 90% of those I speak with have never heard of IBC. We're going to change that!!

I'm glad to see even at the bottom of the world New Zealand women can be aware of IBC. I have been trying to get a piece in NZine but they want to localize a story. Maybe you could be their link. The editor is a very cool lady in Christchurch.

Im behind you Girl!! Women need to learn about this terrible breast disease and to understand the symptoms. Most women I have spoken to know nothing about IBC. There is no lump and many women mistake breast warmth and redness, for a minor breast infection. Often breast swelling is put down to hormones and monthly cycles and a breast rash down to an ordinary skin problem. Sores are often assumed to be insect bites and sometimes puckering or visual abnormalities are not mentioned to anyone due to embarrassment. This is an aggressive breast disease that our women must know about. Chances are your Doctor may not know much about IBC either. Educating the women in our lives, helps them to "connect the dots" and leaves them empowered when seeking help. You are doing a great job in educating women Patti, thank you!

Fran, thank you for posting. And thank you for your kind words. My daughter fought for 4 years, and I made her a promise that I would keep moving forward.
How were you made aware of IBC?

Thank you for starting this group. I try and tell as many women as possible about IBC, most never heard of it as the video states. I'm so sorry you lost your daughter to this horrific disease.
